Clear Answers
Everything parents ask us first.
Straightforward, plain-language answers about referrals, NDIS funding, waitlists, session expectations, and practical logistics — so you can take your next step with confidence.
01 Getting Started & Intake
A referral is not strictly required to begin private or NDIS occupational therapy at LOTS4KIDS. However, Medicare rebate schemes (such as the Chronic Disease Management / EPC plan) do require a specific GP referral. We are happy to guide you through what applies to your family when you enquiry.
Availability varies depending on session type, location (clinic vs mobile school/home visits), and time of day. We recommend sending a quick enquiry — our team will immediately update you on our current intake availability and upcoming openings.
Simply use our simple online enquiry form. Share your contact details and a brief note on what you've noticed with your child. Our clinical team will review your message and reach out to discuss the best first step.
We specialise exclusively in paediatric care, supporting babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and primary school children from birth to 12 years of age.
02 Conditions & Developmental Goals
Our paediatric therapists support a broad range of developmental conditions and participation goals, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) & neurodivergent profiles
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) & executive functioning
- Global Developmental Delay (GDD)
- Sensory processing and self-regulation challenges
- Fine motor skills, pencil grasp, and handwriting difficulties
- Gross motor coordination, balance, and whole-body confidence
- School readiness and classroom transition skills
- Self-care routines (dressing, mealtimes, hygiene, sleep)
- Social connection and cooperative peer play
03 Funding, NDIS & Medicare
We accept a variety of payment and funding pathways:
- NDIS (Self-Managed): Families pay directly and claim reimbursement through the NDIS portal.
- NDIS (Plan-Managed): We invoice your chosen Plan Manager directly.
- Medicare: Eligible children under a GP Chronic Disease Management (CDM/EPC) plan receive Medicare rebates.
- Private Health Insurance: Rebates apply depending on your extras cover for occupational therapy.
- Direct Private Paying: Self-funded therapy without any referral required.
